Job Title: Machinist
Reports To: Machine Shop Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Job Status: Full Time
Position Summary
The machinist is responsible for setting up and operating conventional machines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operates lathes, milling machine, surface grinder press, boring mill and radial arm drill.
- Study mechanical drawings for each job.
- Verify dimensions and alignment of assembly using measuring instruments, such as micrometers, height gauges and gauge blocks.
- Perform non essential functions as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years experience as a machinist is required. Must have the ability to read and understand mechanical drawings.
Physical Demands
Must be able to lift 75 pounds occasionally. Requires excessive amounts of stooping and bending. Must be able to push/pull 100 pounds occasionally. May be exposed to extreme temperatures. Requires excessive overtime and weekend work
